JESUS IN THE GOSPELS is a thirty week study that invites believers to look at Jesus in each of the four Gospels and ask the question, "Who is the Jesus that you see?" This study will deepen discipleship through better understanding of the biblical texts and their message.

Two questions frame this study: "Who is the Jesus you bring with you to this study?" and "Who is the Jesus you take with you from this study?" JESUS IN THE GOSPELS takes participants on a journey from one question to the other.

While distinct in format and approach, this Bible study builds on the foundation and carries forward the philosophy and ideals that shaped DISCIPLE—high-commitment, long-term, disciplined study that fosters community and builds toward transformation.

JESUS IN THE GOSPELS will begin on Monday, September 10. Depending on interest, a morning (9:30-11:30 and evening class (7:00-9:00) will be offered.  Cost for the Study Book and Gospel Comparison is $40.  Pastor Gayla Rapp will be leading the class.  Sign up or call/email the church office to enroll for JESUS IN THE GOSPELS.

In the past (and we may again in the future), we have employed the very popular Disciple Bible Study program at Edgerton UMC. Both the full length version (approx. 34 weeks) and the short study programs for the Old and New testaments (8 weeks each) have been taught.

The DISCIPLE Bible Study program is designed to develop strong Christian leaders in local churches through the in-depth study of Scripture. Through DISCIPLE, persons will be strengthened in their faith and guided into service and ministry. Strong, biblically nourished leadership helps the church grow in vitality and Christian discipleship. The DISCIPLE Bible Study program can:

Other Bible Studies

In addition to the formal Disciple series of study, groups of EUMC members and constituents meet for more informal Bible studies. We enjoy working at our own pace using several popular Bible commentaries that allow us to delve deeper into some of the mysteries of the Word of God. We come away enlightened and refreshed by our encounters with God and each other. 

A six week Bible Study called "Luke's Message" is currently planned to start during the week of September 10th, 2007. Contact the church office at 882-6735 or place you name on the sign-up sheet in Fellowship Hall if you are interested in attending.
