What do people wear to worship at Edgerton UMC?
Sometimes people worry about what to wear when they come to church.  At Edgerton UMC, all styles of dress are appropriate.  Want to wear a t-shirt and jeans?
Want to wear a suit or dress?  We don't care!
What we do care about is that you know you are welcome no matter what you wear!

Children are special at Edgerton United Methodist Church!
At our 8:30 AM Emmaus Road Worship Celebration, children are present for the opening music.  Children are then invited to be part of "Emmaus Kids Club"--a fun and faith-based program for ages 3-8 that meets during worship.
On the first Sunday of the month, when we celebrate Holy Communion, children will join their parents just before Communion is served and have the option of receiving Communion.

Our 10:45 AM Worship Celebration includes a special time with the children where a scripture is read and explained.  We pray that these special moments will foster a feeling of "belonging" for the children and encourage their participation in worship.  Following this worship time, the children can attend a separate "Children's Church" if they desire.  While they are very welcome in our Sanctuary at all times during the worship, a nursery is also provided for the very young if you wish to use it.

A Nursery is provided for ages 0-3.

All Nursery workers, Sunday School teachers and "Emmaus Kids Club" leaders are certified
through the "Safe and Sacred Spaces" program of the
Kansas East Conference United Methodist Church.

 Holy Communion
The Lord's supper is celebrated on the 1st Sunday of every month.  Anyone who loves or wishes to love Jesus Christ is welcome to receive communion
at Edgerton United Methodist Church.

Music
Music at the 8:30 AM Emmaus Road Worship Celebration is led by our Worship Team directed by John Babcock.

At our 10:45 AM Worship Celebration we are blessed with an amazing adult choir, the children's choir as well as a hand bell choir.  For additional information about our music program, please visit the music page.

Nursing Home Worship
On a rotating basis, all church denominations within the Gardner and Edgerton communities go to local nursing facilities to provide worship services.  Edgerton UMC participates in this community service and leads worship at the Vintage Park assisted-living facility in Gardner.
