PURPOSE OF UMW: The organized unit of United Methodist
Women is a community of women whose purpose is to know God and
experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a
creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through
participation in the global ministries of the church. Membership in UMW is voluntary and intentional. Any woman may become a member who chooses to belong, is committed to the purpose, and is willing to be involved in global mission. The United Methodist Women (UMW) meet the 2nd Saturday of the month at 9 AM in the Fellowship Hall. UMW hosts a salad supper in June for the women of the Trailside Parish and other surrounding churches. An ongoing fundraising project for the UMW is the collection of Best Choice proof-of-purchase labels. The Prayer Circle meets each Tuesday morning at 9 AM. All women in our congregation are invited to be a part of this mission ministry. Call Roberta Knabe at (913) 882-6735 for more information. Upper Room Devotional Guides -- UMW supplies the Upper Room Daily Devotional Guide to the congregation, which all members are encouraged to use as a resource for strengthening their relationships with God through Jesus Christ through an active prayer life.
